A Polar Bear's Dream
by Firstress Crosby, NYC Museum School
I wish I wasn't viewed as cuddly
Nobody wants to cuddle me
But all the wishes in the world can't make me be what I wanna be.
I wish I wasn't white. I disappear in the snow
I wish I wasn't alone and I could leave
But all the wishes in the world can't take me where I wanna go.
I wish I wasn't observed
I wish I wasn't called polar
I wish they'd stop using me to sell Coca Cola!
Firstress Crosby is a student in Jump In! A Baruch College Now Creative Program.
