A Baruch College Now Creative Writing Program
Jump In is an intensive site-specific creative writing program that will take students on a whirlwind tour of art, industry, and drama for the purpose of jumpstarting the creative process. Marshalling the rich and unparalleled creative capital and resources available to students in New York City, Jump In is uniquely positioned to offer a multi-genre, three-dimensional creative writing experience. Three different writing genres will be explored: Fiction, Poetry and Playwriting.
Jump In is a free program that meets eight Saturdays between October 21 and January 13. Sessions are scheduled for October 21, October 28, November 11, December 2, December 9, December 16, January 6, and January 13. All sessions will begin at 11:00 am and end at 2:00 pm. All sessions will begin at 11:00 am and end at 2:00 pm. Students will meet either on-site (i.e. Central Park Zoo, Metropolitan Museum of Art, etc.) or at Baruch College. The college is located at 55 Lexington Avenue, between 24th and 25th Streets, NYC.
Aspiring writers in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades are encouraged to apply. Students will be selected based on their writing samples and demonstrated interest in Creative Writing. Applications must be submitted by October 6.
