More Information on the Learning Lab

Our state-of-the-art facility will be open on various days and times, depending on availability.  A lab assistant will supervise, and will be available to acquaint you with the tutorials and practice materials provided for your use.

We have the newest versions of assistive technology, including Jaws and Window-Eyes screen readers, Magic and Zoomtext Xtra level 2, and Kurzweil 1000.

Requirements:
  • If you have never taken a class at CCVIP you will need to schedule an appointment to come in and take an assessment test prior to taking advantage of the Learning Lab.

  • The Learning Lab is scheduled on a semester basis.

  • Call (646) 312-1420 and ask to speak with Judith Gerber to reserve computer time. Time is issued on a first-come, first-served basis, and space is limited. Reservations are required.

  • You must know how to use Assistive Technology and current Microsoft applications.

  • E-mail must be accessed from a Web provider, unless you are attending a current CCVIP Internet class.

  • All diskettes must be scanned for viruses in every session you attend.

  • No food or drink is permitted in the computer classroom.

  • Rules of the college must be followed.
