The Wall Street Careers Program has a year-long curriculum completed in two semesters. The focus of the first semester is to provide students with the necessary technical and career training to become strong candidates for front-office summer internship.
In the first semester, students will participate in training on topics such as finance resume writing, interviewing, valuation, Excel mastery, financial modeling, dining etiquette and business communication. In addition, the Program also arranges for office visits to major financial institutions and networking receptions with key industry professionals.
During the second semester, training will focus on how to succeed in a summer internship and build a successful Wall Street career. Career management workshops are given along with seminars on more advanced finance topics. As part of the curriculum, students also read The Wall Street Journal and other financial publications on a regular basis.
In addition to intensive classroom training, each student in the Program is matched up with two mentors - one alumni mentor who is currently working on Wall Street and one peer mentor who is a senior WSCP student at Baruch. Students also receive a year long complimentary subscription to The Wall Street Journal and a copy of the Vault Guide to Finance Interviews. Participants' resumes are published in the Baruch College Wall Street Careers Program Resume Book, which is submitted to decision makers in the industry for consideration for front-office finance internships.
