OCR at Baruch College

Companies come to Baruch College to interview students for internships and full-time opportunities through the On Campus Recruiting (OCR) program. OCR is managed by Starr Search, our online recruiting system which is where all resume submissions and interview sign-ups are completed.
Attending Mandatory OCR Workshop = Eligibility to apply to both internships and full-time jobs through OCR Program.

Internship OCR

If you plan to participate in Internship OCR throughout the 2016-2017 academic year, you will need to view the Internship OCR Tutorial. Completion of the tutorial is required to participate in this program.
  • It takes up to 3 business days to activate your Internship OCR eligibility in Starr Search.
  • In order to have your results processed, your Starr Search profile must be complete. This means that all fields such as your GPA, year in school, expected graduation date and major must be entered.
  • Viewing the Internship OCR tutorial ONLY makes you Internship OCR eligible.

Full Time OCR

Throughout the fall semester, employers recruit on campus for full-time positions that start in June upon graduation. In some cases, positions can start in January. In order to be eligible for full-time OCR, students must attend a Mandatory OCR Workshop. This workshop will also make a student eligible for Internship OCR.

Corporate Presentations

In an effort to become more educated regarding various companies that recruit on campus and their opportunities, we recommend you attend their on-campus corporate presentations which are all listed under the ‘Events’ section of Starr Search.

Interview Location

OCR interviews are located in the Starr Career Development Center (SCDC), unless otherwise indicated. The SCDC is located in Baruch College’s Vertical Campus building in Room 2-150 (2nd floor) at 55 Lexington Avenue (24th Street corner), New York, NY 10010. Please ensure that you inform the SCDC front office staff when you arrive for your interview.

Offer Deadline Policy

For OCR positions, the SCDC is committed to working in the best interest of both our students and our employer partners. We encourage employers to be understanding and willing to give students ample time to carefully consider all of their employment options and to make informed decisions during the recruiting season. In an effort to establish a fair, competitive and ethical recruiting environment for both students and employers, the SCDC strongly encourages employers to abide by the OCR offer and date guidelines below.

As a student, you may ask for extensions beyond these recommended deadlines, however it will be at the employer’s discretion as to whether or not they can accommodate you. If you have any concerns and/or questions regarding an offer deadline that an employer has given you, please come to the SCDC and ask for advice.
If you accept an offer from an employer, it is unacceptable to renege so that you can take another opportunity.
