Dr. Karen Lyness Honored as a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology
Dr. Karen Lyness, professor of psychology at Baruch College and the head of the doctoral program in industrial/organizational psychology, was elected a Fellow in the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) this April. Fellowship is considered the Societys highest honor. This award is given in recognition of distinguished contributions to the field of I/O psychology, and Dr. Lyness was honored for her research and its impact.
Dr. Lyness' research involves women in executive and managerial roles, the work/life interface of managers, and other issues related to workforce diversity. In 2003 Dr. Lyness received the Sage Lifetime Achievement Award from the Gender and Diversity in Organizations division of the Academy of Management.
