Event Description An international reporter, a multimedia journalist and a photographer discuss how they use smartphones in their work.
The speakers are:
++ Andrew Quilty, whose work has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone and other publications, photographed Hurricane Sandy, using only Instagram, in a project for Time. The photos were published in the print edition and on Time's website.
++ Kirsti Itämeri, a photographer and journalist, uses her multimedia skills at Metrofocus, part of WNET/Channels 13 and 21. She is currently contributing to a project about the role of women in Egypt called "I Marched Along."
++ Genevieve Belmaker, contributing editor and media reporter for Epoch Times, has traveled throughout the U.S., Asia, the Middle East and Central America to cover stories, from features to investigative reports. She recently returned from Israel, where she was working on a book, Jerusalem and the Holy Land.
