C4 turns the tables and aims to focus on the 'now' and how our own presence in the present can help us escape the anxieties of tomorrow. Compositions featuring poetry by Gerard Manley Hopkins and Emily Dickinson, and texts on Buddhist intention and the universality of choice reflect on the impermanence of life and a mindful attitude towards the present. The program features works by Huang Ruo, Christian Carey, and C4 composers Hayes Biggs, Daniel Andor, Timothy Brown, Harry Einhorn, Fahad Siadat, Bettina Sheppard, and others, featuring 5 world premieres.
Reception immediately follows the concert in the BPAC lobby.
