Borrowing Library Materials

Lost or Stolen ID Card

Users must immediately report any lost or stolen ID card to the Circualtion desk, Security/Public Safety Department, and Registrar's office.

Change of Address
Users must report a change of address to the Circulation Desk and the Registrar's office.

Recall on Books
Any item may be recalled, (requested to be returned by the person who has borrowed it) at any time for assignment to reserve. This is a rush recall, and the item must be returned within one week of the date of the recall notice.

Baruch undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty may recall a book for any reason. The original borrower can then keep the book only for a minimum loan period, which is the longer of the original loan period or ten days from the date of recall. Find the item in the library catalog and click "Request."

Return Books to any CUNY Library

General circulation books may be returned to any CUNY library (reserve items must go back to the library where you borrowed them). Overdue fines can also be paid at any CUNY library.

Interlibrary Loan

Undergraduate students are limited to 20 active requests.  A request is considered "active" until it is returned to the Newman Library.  Damaged Items: Each user is responsible for all ILL items in his/her possession.  If an item is lost or damaged, the lending library reserves the right to invoice us for the repair or replacement costs.  The amount billed will vary and will be passed to the patron for payment.  Returning items damaged may result in the loss of ILL borrowing privileges.
