WebMail Problem:
Over Quota, Can't Delete Messages

You may be over your 15.0 megabyte (MB) WebMail mail storage limit (quota).  You won’t be able to log in to WebMail until you delete some messages.  Here’s the simplest way to fix your quota problem:

1. Go to http://www.mail2web.com

2. Click "Advanced Login"

3. Complete all four fields with the following information (as below)

Server name or IP address            webmail.baruch.cuny.edu
User ID or Login name                    [student’s username, for example bb123456]
Password                                        [student’s password]
Mail Protocol                                 POP3    IMAP4  [select IMAP4]

4. Click

5. Since quota problems are often caused by a few large messages, the quickest way to fix your quota is to delete your largest messages first.  To do that, click the down-arrow ( ) next to Size (see below) to sort e-mail from largest to smallest (as below)

6. The largest e-mails in that folder will appear at the top of the list.  Select   all  large e-mails (100K or above) that are no longer needed and click

7. Click the down-arrow next to INBOX to select the different folders in your account, and click  to open each folder (as below)

8. Repeat as in steps #5 and #6 above, sorting from largest to smallest e-mails and selecting and deleting all e-mails that are no longer needed.

9.  MAKE SURE YOU DELETE ALL THE EMAIL IN THE TRASH FOLDER AND ANY UNNECESSARY MAIL IN THE SENT FOLDER.

10. When you have deleted larger e-mails from every folder, click "Logoff/Change" User. You can now use WebMail as usual: http://webmail.baruch.cuny.edu
