Baruch College has designed the Electronic Campus with a minimal set of Internet Software requirements. We have compiled a list of recommended Internet software, along with links to download and support sites to facilitate the use of our site.
NOTE: Before downloading any software to a PC located in a Baruch College on-campus lab, please speak to a Lab Consultant. Most of the required software for using the Baruch College Electronic Campus should already be resident on lab computers.

Adobe Acrobat Reader
allows you to open, view, navigate, and print files created
in Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF). PDF files can be
created from almost any software application, and will display
and print exactly as created. This eliminates your need to
have the same application which was used to create the file.
The Baruch College Electronic Campus incorporates online documentation
in *.PDF format. With the Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can view
and print online documentation directly from the web browser
on your PC.
Apple's
iTunes and Quicktime
The free iTunes and Quicktime player will let you view Quicktime movies, download podcasts, listen to music and download movies.
Internet Explorer is a web browser that allows you to search for and view information on the Internet.
Microsoft
Office Viewers (for those who don't own Microsoft Office)
Microsoft offers free viewer software for Microsoft Office
files for users who do not own Microsoft Office.
Microsoft
PowerPoint Animation Player
The Microsoft PowerPoint Animation Player enables you to view
and print PowerPoint presentations, even if you do not have
PowerPoint installed on your computer.
Many faculty members upload PowerPoint presentations used
in their coursework to the Baruch College Electronic Campus.
Using this plug-in, you can view and print these presentations
directly from the web browser on your PC.
Eudora enables
you to access your internet-based e-mail, both on-campus as
well as off-campus, provided you have internet access.
You can locate e-mail addresses and send e-mail in the Baruch
College Electronic Campus from the Faculty and Staff Directory
web pages.
NOTE: To use Eudora, you must first
have a Baruch College e-mail account (either @baruch.cuny.edu
or @cunyvm.cuny.edu). Students, if you do not know
what your Baruch WebMail account is, you can retrieve your
Baruch Username
here. Faculty and Staff can apply for a faculty/staff
e-mail account now.
WinZip
File Extractor
An easy to use file compression/decompression utility, for
use with Zip files and other Internet file formats, including
TAR, gzip, Unix compress, UUencode, BinHex, and MIME.
RealPlayer
Hear and see audio, video, and animation streamed via the
Internet.

View streaming Shockwave Director and Flash multimedia.

Mozilla Firefox
Firefox is a web browser that allows you to search for and view information on the Internet. It has built in popup blocking, Google search and tabbed browsing. Available for Windows, Mac OSX and Linux.
