Qualtrics - Online Survey, Reporting and Analysis Software

The Qualtrics survey software is available to all Baruch College faculty and students for conducting online surveys.

Access to Qualtrics is managed using your Baruch Network Username/Baruch Username and password. This Username/Password combination is the same one used for computer or wireless log in at Baruch College. If you have any difficulty with your log in, contact the BCTC Help Desk at 646-312-1010, or helpdesk@baruch.cuny.edu.

Logging in to Qualtrics:

  1. Go to baruch.qualtrics.com (do not set up a free account at www.qualtrics.com!)
  2. Enter your Network Username/Baruch Username and password. Your Username/Password combination is the same one used for computer or wireless log in at Baruch College.
  3. If this is your first time accessing Qualtrics you will be asked if you already have an account. Select "I don't have a Qualtrics account" and you will be directed to your survey control panel. If you have logged into Qualtrics previously using your Network Username you will be taken directly to your survey control panel.
  4. Click on “Create Survey” or “Click here to create your first survey!”
  5. Click on the “Quick Survey Builder” (recommended approach) to begin creating your survey.
  6. Click on “Create a New Question” to begin adding questions.

For help getting started, or to answer technical questions, please use the "Help and Tutorials" link at the top of the page following login to your Qualtrics account.

You can access the Qualtrics Training Guide that has been created by the BCTC Web Group.

Please Note: As of August 22, 2011, the Qualtrics service will use your Baruch Network username and password for account access. If you are new to Qualtrics, follow the steps outlined in "Logging in to Qualtrics". If you had created an account previously follow the steps outlined in "Migrating an Existing Qualtrics Account" to migrate your previous account surveys and data into your new account.

Migrating an Existing Qualtrics Account

If you had previously created a Qualtrics account using your Baruch email address ("@baruch.cuny.edu" or "@baruchmail.cuny.edu") you can migrate the surveys and associated data to your new account.

Complete the following steps to log in to your account using your Baruch Network account and to migrate survey and data from your previous Qualtrics account.

  1. Go to baruch.qualtrics.com (do not set up a free account at www.qualtrics.com!)
  2. Enter your Network Username/Baruch Username and password. Your Username/Password combination is the same one used for computer or wireless log in at Baruch College.
  3. If this is your first time accessing Qualtrics you will be asked if you already have an account. Select "I already have a Qualtrics account"
  4. On the next screen you will Enter the Email/Username and password for your previous Qualtrics account, select "Migrate Account", and you will then be taken to your control panel which will include all of surveys and data from your previous account.
  5. You can now continue to use Qualtrics as before. Subsequent logins to Qualtrics will take you directly to your survey control panel.

Transferring Your Baruch-affiliated Qualtrics Account to an External Qualtrics Account

If you use the Qualtrics service while at Baruch to conduct research and leave the College you may coordinate the transfer of your surveys and data to an external account. To do so contact Keisha Peterson at the Baruch Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) to discuss and complete a Data Use Agreement. Once the Baruch HRPP confirms the decision on use, the Baruch Computing and Technology Center Help Desk may coordinate the Qualtrics account migration per the decision of the HRPP.
