Email Spam Management using Proofpoint

Baruch College recently upgraded the Proofpoint system to the latest generation of e-mail security in order to provide a complete spam protection system for the College.

What is Proofpoint?
Proofpoint Inc. is an anti-spam product that acts as a gatekeeper for Baruch College's faculty/staff Exchange email servers. The product inspects more than 200,000 message attributes and currently has a high degree of success at detecting spam. Once examined, legitimate messages are routed to the recipient’s mailbox while suspected spam is quarantined by Proofpoint. Each morning early e-mail users will receive a personal digest consisting of one e-mail that contains links to all the messages tagged as spam and quarantined over the past 24 hours. In the rare event that a message marked as spam is legitimate, the message can be released to your in-box with the click of a button. Once completed reviewing your digest, you can deleted the digest like any other e-mail.
