What's New in Blackboard 6.3: Detail View, Quick View & Tools > Back to Blackboard 6.3 Support Page
If you open your course and find the course menu structure appears in a 'tree structure' - in the form of nested folders - you are in Detail View. You can use this navigation structure or easily switch to using the traditional button-based course menu structure, Quick View.

The Tools available to instructors in Blackboard 6.3 display in three boxes (this setting can be changed):
- In the top box, Communication and Course Tools link to the same areas in the Course Menu.
- The Course Map launches a pop-up window that details the structure - or information architecture - of the course, including all documents, links, assignments, tests and other content.
- The Control Panel (for administering your course) is located in the second box.
- In the third box, refresh the course view and switch to Quick View (buttons or text links).

The Course Menu options are located in the course Control Panel. To change the Course Menu options:
- Click on the Control Panel link
- Click on Course Design in the Course Options section

- Manage the Course Menu view in the Manage Menu Display Options area.

- The Tools options can also be controlled through the Manage Tool Panel options.
