How to Link your Accounts to the New Baruchmail Email Account
Linking a Hotmail account within your Baruchmail account:
- Sign into Baruchmail account.
- Right hand corner, click options and then click more options
- Under Manage your account, click on view and edit your personal information
- In the middle of the screen, click on Link Windows Live ID’s
- Please follow the on-line instructions
Accessing a Yahoo, Gmail, and etc. personal email account within your Baruchmail account:
- Sign into Baruchmail account.
- Right hand corner, click options and then click more options
- Under Manage your account, click on Send and Receive mails from other e-mail accounts
- On the next page that loads, you can click on the options to assist you in accessing your other email accounts.
How to configure your iPod, iPhone, Blackberry to work with Live@Baruch?
Use the following settings:
- Incoming mail server name: pop3.live.com
- Outgoing mail server name: smtp.live.com:25
- Email server type: POP3
- Port 995 for Incoming mail server
- Port 25 for outgoing mail server
- Use SSL: Yes
- Timeout: 120 seconds
- Must insert username and password for incoming and outgoing mail server if available under your device mail settings
How can I configure an e-mail client, such as Thunderbird and Outlook to work with Live@Baruch?
PC Instructions
- Go to Start, Programs, Microsoft Office and then Microsoft Office Outlook
- Click “Next” to Configure your e-mail account
- Click “Yes” to configure Outlook to Internet E-mail.
- Check the box that indicates “Manually configure server settings”
- Choose Internet E-mail option.
- Set the incoming mail (POP3) and Outgoing mail (SMTP) settings to:
- Your name: Firstname.lastname
- E-mail Address: Firstname.lastname@baruchmail.cuny.edu
- Account type: Pop3
- Incoming Mail Server: pop3.live.com
- Outgoing Mail Server(SMTP): smtp.live.com: smtp.live.com:25
- Username: Your firstname.lastname@baruchmail.cuny.edu
- Password: <Your password>
- Check the box that indicated “Require Login Using Password Authentication (SPA)”
- Click on “More Settings” tab.
- On the Advanced Tab:
- Check all the boxes that indicate “Enable this account, Include when automatically checking for new mail and Use SSL”
- Set the port number for Incoming Mail (POP3) to 995.
- Check the box that indicates “Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
- Set the port number for Outgoing Mail (SMTP) to 25.
- Check the box that indicates “Leave a copy of Messages on the server” (SSL).
- Check the box that indicates “Remove from server when deleted from ‘Deleted Items’”
- Click Finish to complete your configuration
MAC Instructions
- Click on Mail icon
- On the Menu bar, under “Mail”, click on “Preferences”
- In the dialog box, click on “Accounts” tab and then “Account Information”
- “Account type”: Pop
- Then set the incoming mail (POP3) and Outgoing mail (SMTP) settings to:
- Description: Baruch Live
- E-mail Address: Youre-mailaddress@baruchmail.cuny.edu
- Full Name: Firstname.Lastname
- Incoming Mail Server: pop3.live.com
- Username:Firstname.lastname@baruchmail.cuny.edu
- Password: <Your password>
- Outgoing Mail Server(SMTP): smtp.live.com:25
- Check the box that indicates “Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
- Set the Outgoing port number for Outgoing Mail (SMTP) to 25.
- On the Advanced Tab:
- Check the box that indicate Use SSL
- Set the port number for Incoming Mail (POP3) to 995.
- Finish
