Mobile Connection Settings: (Active Sync) & Blackberry

iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch settings or any smart phone that supports Activesync.

Here are the settings needed to set-up Active sync on your smart phone device.

Server name: async.baruch.cuny.edu
Domain: acad.baruch.local or bctc.baruch.local

Username: That which you use to log into a computer on campus

e-mail address: Firstname.lastname@baruch.cuny.edu

Password: The password you use to log into your computer with
SSL: ON/Enabled

** Please keep in mind that when you password changes for logging into your computer, you must change your password on your smart phone device and/or e-mail client off-campus to prevent a disruption in service. **

* Please keep in mind that some phone providers have different ways to add/remove/edit e-mail accounts on your phone.  We have provided the most common way that we have seen with Verizon, Spring and AT&T.  In some cases, users have had to contact their cell phone provider for assistance in modifying or adding an e-mail account to their device.

 

Out of office agent functionality:

If you set your out of office agent to be active, ANYONE who sends you an e-mail from a Baruch or non-Baruch e-mail address, the message will be received indicating you are out of the office and the message contained in your e-mail.
