One of the Board members asked me: "How will we know we are succeeding? What measures will we use?" To me there are 2 key indicators: attendance at our programs and number of dues-paying members. As a stretch goal, I'd like to see 30% increases this year in both attendance and dues paying members. Although this sounds high, it's not difficult. Attendance at our programs ranged from 15 to 50 people, so getting 5 to 15 more people for each event is a reasonable goal. Do come. Your presence makes each event better. You are the event. If you want different kinds of events, please let me know. Our January 2001 event, a covered dish supper and Caribbean Art night at the home of Vice President-Events John Richards ’88, was a success. We also will have an event in February or March with the National Urban and Rural Fellows at Sisterspace and Books. Watch for details.
Last year, we had 116 dues paying members. I'd like to reach
150 this year. Dues are only $35 per year. There are lots of benefits
to membership in the Alumni Association. If you received the
dues bill, send in your dues. If you haven't received a bill, don't
wait; mail a check for $35 to President, 301-762-0341 |
