Anne Bender (MS '39) has officially retired after 32 years of teaching but continues to volunteer at the Brooklyn College Institute for Retired Professionals. She is also a member of the Community Committee at the Brooklyn Museum . Abraham J. Briloff was named to Accounting Today's "Top 100 Most Influential People" list for 2001.

Eli Mason was named to Accounting Today's "Top 100 Most Influential People" list for 2001.

1942

1944
Retired accounting teacher Blanche P. Kogan is a member of American University Women.

1946
After half a century Miriam Feldman , now retired, says she continues to appreciate the influences of her instructors and peers at Baruch College .

1947
Retired CPA Stanley Grey remains active as trustee of the North Shore LIJ Health System and serves on three committees. He is also an avid golfer. Stanley plans to visit the new Baruch Vertical Campus on Lexington Avenue between 24th and 25th streets. Murray Etlin practiced for many years as a partner in three different CPA firms. In 1957 he received his JD degree and was admitted to the Bar in New York State . He currently resides in Boca Raton , FL. Raymond H. Phillips, was a managing partner of a large regional CPA firm until retiring in 1992. He is currently chair of the NYC office of SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) which gives free business counseling under the US Small Business Administration. Benjamin Podgor moved to Atlanta , GA from Massapequa Park in July 2001.

1948
After retiring as a special agent from the IRS criminal division specializing in tax fraud matters, Leon Lebensbaum is practicing tax law. Leon Lebensbaum , a retired Adelphi University professor, is practicing tax law after having been a special agent of the IRS criminal division specializing in tax fraud matters as a CPA and attorney. Murray Starr enlisted in the Navy in 1944 and saw active duty in all theaters from 1944 to 1946. During his career as a "sophisticated" salesman, he specialized in insurance (life and health); IRA, Keogh and pension and profit-sharing planning; estate and disability planning; and mutual funds.

1949
Stanley Rothman lives in Boca Raton , FL. He was a general agent in insurance in NYC for over 40 years.

1952
Lawrence Shapiro (MS'72) would like to contact other class alumni to plan the 50 year reunion for 2002. Please contact the Baruch College Alumni Association and information will be forwarded. Maxine L. Baden (MBA) has two married children and five grandchildren. She is an owner and office manager of a family promotional products distribution company operated by her son and son-in-law.

1954
Morton L. Mann is a property and casualty Insurance accounting columnist for IASA. In 1998 he taught insurance accounting for MBA students at the China University of Science and Technology in Hefei , China . Ruth Geller (MBA'83) has retired from teaching at California State University . She has three children who are practicing doctors.

1959
Robert S. Nadel has been elected president of HR/NY, the New York chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management. He is also president of Nadel consulting/HR Spectrum, Inc. a management consulting firm with offices in New York , Pittsburgh and Chicago .

1960
In 2000 Ernest C. Odierna (MBA '67) was elected councilman for the Town of Mamaroneck, NY. He is also past commodore of the Harlem Yacht Club, City Island , NY and past Division V captain of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Jesse D. Gelle r earned his PHD in clinical psychology at the University of Connecticut in 1966. He taught full time at Yale University until 1995 and is currently an associate clinical professor at Columbia TC. He has been married since 1962 and has two children. Chair of the Department of Accounting, Taxation and Law at the Brooklyn campus of Long Island University , Dr Myrna L. Fischman (MS '64) has been elected president of the Brooklyn chapter of the NYS Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) for the year 2001-2002.

1961
Stanley A. Marash (MBA '70) was granted the E. Jack Lancaster Award by the American Society for Quality in "recognition of 41 years as a quality professional and leader in providing knowledge and technology transfer to the international community through consultation and education of heads of state, senior executives and future leaders of quality and performance excellence". Marash is chairman and CEO of Stat -A-Matrix, Inc.

1962
Melvin Meyerson is a practicing CPA in taxation. Meyerson , a director at McGladrey and Pullen , lectures on tax matters for the NYS Foundation for Accounting Education. He is also a member of the NYS Society of CPA's Individual Income Tax Committee.

1963
Alan E. Weiner , senior tax partner with Holtz Rubenstein and past president of the NYSSCPA, was among sixteen accounting professionals on the Long Island Business News' recent list of "Who's Who in Accounting".

1964
Robert L. Israeloff was named to Accounting Today's "Top 100 Most Influential People" list for 2001.

1965
Andrew Radding was recently appointed to the Executive Board of the Mayor's Domestic Violence Coordinating Committee in Baltimore . He was also elected to the Executive Council of the Baltimore City Bar Association and chairs its Arbitration Committee for the District of Maryland.

1968
Kenneth Lichstein received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Tennessee . He has been on the psychology faculty of the University of Memphis since 1976 where his main interest is sleep research.

1969
Jerome M. Federlein (MBA) is a financial planner with Guardian. He has also worked as an international business consultant, and spent two years in Nigeria with the Peace Corps. Alvin A. Joshua entered the office of Court Administration in 1963 as a court officer and served as a clerk of the court until 1980 when he was appointed arbitration commissioner. In 1990 he retired from this position. Stuart A. Hoberman , shareholder and director of the Woodbridge law firm Wilentz , Goldman & Spitzer , was installed as secretary of the New Jersey State Bar Association at their recent annual meeting. He also serves as a trustee for the New Jersey State Bar Foundation, the NJSBA's philanthropic arm, of which he is immediate past president. Stuart, has been elected a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

1971
Clark Fegan is CEO of C.F. Consultants performing accounting, tax preparation services and consulting to small businesses in the NJ and NY metropolitan areas. The Fiduciary Trust Company International has named Michael J. Materasso , EVP, as head of its Fixed Income Department. Previously co-head of the department, Materasso will continue to manage institutional portfolios in addition to serving on the firm's top management committees.

1972
Leonard R. Rosenblatt , is a tax attorney specializing in areas of tax crimes, penalties and frauds. A prolific writer, his most recent article "Tax Evasion Sentences Enhanced for Concealment" appeared in the New Jersey Law Journal of August 13, 2001 .

1973
Peter Daniels was recently promoted from supervisory auditor to trade liaison of the Regulatory Audit Division of the United States Customs Service.

1974
Since 1997 Jimmie Harris (MBA '80) has served as deputy superintendent of programs for a medium security NYS Correctional Facility. Prior to this appointment he served in a number of directorial positions in health care administration. Stuart Hirschhorn is director of research at Catalina Research Inc., Boca Raton , FL. He received his MLS degree in 1995 from C.W. Post College of Long Island University . Jose A. Rodriguez is a life member of the NYRRC, an endowment member of the NRA, and an USATF certified official at the association level.

1978
Gwendolyn Garret Joly was appointed director of operations for Alternative, Adult and Continuing Education Schools and Programs in September 1999. She is married with one daughter. Arthur P. Fishman is an independent tax accountant representing clients across the country. After receiving her MS in Education Administration and Supervision in 1978 Christine Ann Gebhardt ( Nowak ) (MS Ed) worked first as a producer, then managing director of a news service at WPIX TV (now WB-11) in NYC on various news programs which won local awards. In 1992 she relocated to Chapel Hill , NC where she now teaches ESL.

1979
Marlene Y. Vidibor (MPA) retired from the Social Security Administration in April of this year and is currently working as a consultant for CMA Associates in systems development projects. Marlene is also an active mentor in BCAA's Mentoring Program. Robert F. Dembia (MPA '91) recently accepted a position with the New York State Education Department as a regional associate with the Long Island Special Education Quality Assurance Office. Michael J. Choi has been appointed to the advisory council for overseas taxation by the National Tax Service of the Republic of Korea . He resides in Honolulu .

1980
Gary A. Wexler is employed as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Miami Beach , FL. He hopes to find a position in the marketing or communications department of the Post Office, particularly one that will allow him to return to Forest Hills .

1983
Michelle H. Brown- Nevers (MSE '90) is executive director of the Health Sciences Division at Columbia University . She completed her EdD at Teachers College, Columbia University in 1998.

1984
Martin D. Osher was recently promoted to senior manager at Most Horowitz & Co., LLP.

1985
Mark S. Bramanate was recently promoted to associate director and co-head of Derivative Operations at Mizuho Capital Markets Corporation. Attorney Daniel Clivner , partner at Simpson, Thatcher & Bartlett in Los Angeles , was recently appointed a trustee of the Baruch College Fund.

1986
Catherine Keller works for the "Power Lunch" program of the non-profit organization Everybody Wins Foundation that brings volunteers from the business community into the public schools to read one-to-one with elementary school children. She is married with four children. Former senior manager at Deloitte Consulting, Kerry Benson recently accepted a position with State Street Corporation as VP in the Client Technology Integration division. She is married with two children. Dr. Glenn A. Palmer is a professor at Devry Institute of Technology in Atlanta , GA. He recently completed an EdD from the University of Georgia in Adult Education. Honor F. Kremer (MS) is a licensed real estate broker in NY and NJ with her own agency, Malone Kremer , Inc.

1987
Barbara A. Breuer (Erickson) is co-founder of the Central NJ/Staten Island chapter of No Kidding, a worldwide organization for childfree singles and couples. She is second VP of the Richmond County Business and Professional Women's Club, member of Business Network International and National Association of Female Executives (NAFE). Barbara is married and lives in Staten Island with six cats and one bird.

1988
Jeffrey Neckonoff is owner of NY Event Connection/Classic Entertainment, a party and event planning and professional mobile DJ entertainment company. Sylvia Gonzalez is the co-founder and executive director of the Bronx Parent Housing Network. Its mission is to empower single parents and low-income families of the Bronx through housing and education. She credits Baruch with providing her the ability to develop a business. Susan Telesmanic received her MBA in finance from St. John's University in 1996. She is currently managing director of Consumer Marketing at the New York Times. Susan is married and has two boys.

1989
David P. Thomas (MBA) was recently promoted to the position of VP of Strategic Planning, Business Development and Acquisitions at Fidelis Care. Julian Aronowitz is an adjunct lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Lehman College . He has completed work on a book about computing "which can help the expert, but the beginner can understand."

1990
Last January, after thirty years in the corporate business world, James Davila started a new career teaching business education. He is also pursuing a Masters in ESL, Bilingual Education at Fairleigh Dickinson University . Ronald V. Guzman is a manager at Ernst & Young in their Profiling Group, performing network security reviews and computer hacking to test clients' environments. William D. Reisel (MBA) received his PhD in 1997 from the City University of NY. Bill, an assistant professor of management at St. John's University , is married with one son. Guy G. Celestin (BBA Accounting 1990, BA Actuarial Sciences 1992) returned home to Haiti in 1992 and works for Shell Co. He wants to keep in touch with old friends especially in light of the World Trade Center tragedy. Anthony Lanzisero is the start-up principal and president of yNetworks , Inc., a provider of internet network security and managed services. Marilyn B. Calister (MBA) has been admitted as partner, Metro NY office, Arthur Andersen.

1991
Thomas E. Hachtel moved to Alpharetta , GA where he works as a human resources representative for Extreme Logic Inc, an e-business solutions provider. Thomas is getting married this October. Founder of the Actuarial Society and recipient of the Becker Family Scholarship when at Baruch , Martin Migliara is presently a managing director with Bear Stearns in London . Salvatore V. Lupo is continuing his career as a stock options trader with UBS PaineWebber . He plans to return to Baruch for his MBA.

1992
Kathleen C. McNally -Reynolds received her MBA from Columbia University in May 2001. She is a manager, capital planning at Morgan Stanley. Aida I. Rios is a benefits consultant for a top ten insurance company. She is married and has one child.

1994
D. Greg Krikorian is a strategy consultant for Accenture and recently started his own business, an underground dance music label. Francesco Arlia is a self-employed CPA on Staten Island ; visit his website frankarliacpa.com. Karla Paz is a recruiting manager at Deloitte and Touche , the tri -state's diversity recruiting leader. Karla recently earned certification as a professional in human resources (PHR). Nancy Fong Morningstar is a homemaker and co-editor of Mom's Club Newsletter.

1995
Chris J. Anderson is continuing his education in a doctoral program at Boston University . Professionally, he assists NY, MA and IL school systems in implementing alternate assessment programs for students with severe disabilities. Mary B. Atwater writes 'Thanks to Baruch College I have found my true passion which is computer now a math teacher at a private high school in NYC. Kerri Rogers (MBA) is an economic development consultant providing technical support to public/private partnerships. She recently purchased a brownstone in Harlem . Arlene Barnard (MBA) has been named to the position of senior financial accountant by the New York Times Company. She is responsible for corporate balance sheet accounting and assists in the preparation of SEC filings and financial press releases.

1998
After receiving a BBA in Accounting, Ismail Nishanbayev returned to his native Kazakhstan (former Soviet Union) to an assistant's position at the company KPMG. In May 2001 he accepted a position as CFO with Andas Altyn LLP, a junior gold mining company in eastern Kazakhstan . He can be e-mailed at: mnishanbayev@semsk.kz.

Michele A. Lindsay was recently promoted from facilities coordinator to IS administrator at WB Wood/NY. Danielle Goldfarb is a playground associate for the Sorrentino Recreation Center , NYC Parks & Recreation Dept. She works with after-school programs, summer recreation camp and coordinates special events. Someyee Ngai was recognized by AIG for her effort and productivity and was rewarded with a vacation. Helen Daskalakis writes from Greece that she had been working for an investment company there until the downturn in the Athens Stock Market. Cheryl Jagdeo worked for Euromoney Publication in London for a year. She is now with Bank of New York in NYC.

2000
Brian A. Meltzer is founder and president of Office Calls Medical Services, a New York-based provider of "at your office" medical and pediatric care. He finished in both the Ironman Florida 2000 and the Boston Marathon 2001. An auditor with Mitchell Titus in Washington , DC , John D. Young passed all four parts of his CPA exam in May 2000. Hiassam Atwi is a senior specialist in the Finance, Equity Derivatives area at Merrill Lynch. Abby M. Miller ( Fleischman ) teaches at James Madison High School in Brooklyn . She married Steven Miller in June of 2000 and is working on a Masters of Education. After receiving her Bachelors degree Tanya Ballard attained a PPT license and was promoted from assistant teacher to teacher. David H. Golland is completing an MA in American History at the University of Virginia , and working in special education at Jack Jouett Middle School in Charlottesville , VA. Robert C. Sloane (MBA) recently started his own business, OptiMarket LLC. which counsels senior executives in career transition. He also is adjunct professor of Marketing/Internet Marketing at St. John's Tobin School of Business and St. Francis College . Denise Ford Sawadogo celebrated her first wedding anniversary in June 2001. She is pursuing marketing career opportunities after leaving a management consultant position with IBM Global Services. Angela Roggerman works for iDeutsch , the interactive department of Deutsch Inc. advertising agency. She is the assistant interactive media planner/buyer on the Verizon , SuperPages.com, and Snapple accounts. She credits her internship at Madison Square Garden while a student with helping her land a job right out of college. Ronald P. Wilson is an accountant/consultant for RHI Management Resources. He worked full time while attending Baruch's evening session. Future plans include graduate school and sitting for the CPA exam in spring 2002.

2001
Elias Elia is pursuing his MS in Computer Science at CCNY, School of Engineering . Isabella Nasala reports that her interests are volunteerism, running, horseback riding, psychology and she loves monkeys. YeYmi Pena is very happy to have found a job almost immediately upon graduation with the NYC Office of Management and Budget as an assistant budget analyst. She credits the SPA Job Fair held in April with this success. Betty L. Wilson (MS) is working for NYC-HPD as an associate real property manager in the Housing Education Services unit. She previously held the position of crisis director with the same agency for 27 years and loved her job. Paul T. Burns (MS), a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch, writes that he recently married, loves history and hockey, and looks forward to a doctoral program in finance. Susan Keyloun , native New Yorker, is a continuing ed instructor at Baruch and Hunter, a real estate agent, and a marketing professional. Josephine Menzies , an auditor with the office of the Inspector General for Audit, of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, will sit for the CPA exam in May. Jessie Tam works for a CPA firm and intends to take the exam in November. She loves to read, listen to music, and help out children. Michael H. Silverstein attended Baruch from 1974 to 1979 and left needing one course for his degree. Having completed that course at another institution, Silverstein received his BBA in June 2001. Amelia Turner, the first in her family to graduate from college, is working for Deloitte & Touche .
