Tier I
Equivalent coursework to ENG 2100 and 2150
- An AP English grade of 4 or 5
- Passing grades in ENG 2100 and/or 2150, or equivalent coursework approved through the Transfer Unit or Admissions Office
Equivalent coursework to COM 1010
- Equivalent coursework from another college program approved through the Transfer Unit or Admissions Office
- A transfer credit of SPE 1010
- Waivers which appear on your transcript as COM 7350 or 7450
Equivalent coursework to MTH 2000-2999
- For BA and BS students:
- Equivalent coursework from another college program approved through the Transfer Unit or Admissions Office
- An AP calculus grade of 4 or 5
- For Admissions into the Zicklin School of Business, all students must receive credit for a calculus course
NOTE: Many math courses are prerequisites for courses in other disciplines. For example, if you plan to take an economics course, you must first pass pre-calculus at Baruch, even if you have been waived from your Tier I math requirement
For BBA students:
Equivalent coursework to Foreign Language
- All BA students must take 2 full semesters of college level language classes
- For BS and BBA students: passing high school grades for two years of the same foreign language
- One year of equivalent coursework from another college, approved through the Transfer Unit or Admissions Office
Equivalent coursework to the SimNet Exam
- CIS 1000 for 0-1 credits
Tier II
Humanities
Equivalencies to ART/MSC/THE requirement
- Equivalent coursework from another college, approved by the Transfer Unit or Admissions Office
- Transfer credit for ART 7300 or MSC 7200
- Waivers for the ART/MSC requirement, which show up on your transcript as FPA 7350 or FPA 7450 (0 credits)
Equivalencies to HIS requirement
- Equivalent coursework from another college, approved by the Transfer Unit or Admissions Office
- Transfer credit for HIS 7100
- Waivers for the HIS requirement, which show up on your transcript as HIS 7350, or HIS 7450 (0 credits)
Equivalencies to PHI requirement
- Equivalent coursework from another college, approved by the Transfer Unit or Admissions Office
- Transfer credit for PHI 7200
- Waivers for the PHI requirement, which show up on your transcript as PHI 7350, or PHI 7450 (0 credits)
Natural Sciences
Equivalencies to Natural Sciences requirement
- Equivalent coursework from another college, approved by the Transfer Unit or Admissions Office
- Waivers for the natural science requirement, which show up on your transcript as NSC 7350 or NSC 7450 (0 credits)
- Students with an AP biology, AP chemistry or AP physics score of 4 or 5 are not automatically waived from the natural sciences requirement, but may appeal for an exemption.
