Declaration of Minor

The following groups must complete the Tier III -nine credit minor in a Liberal Arts discipline:

  1. Freshmen entering Fall 2001 and
  2. All students entering Fall 2003 and
  3. All COL students
  4. All students re-entering Fall 2003 and After
Students who entered the college prior to Fall 2001
The minors offered at the College are designed to provide students with a working background in a field other than their major specialty.

The minor may be related to a student's field of interest or it may simply provide for enrichment and serve to further the student's general education.

Students must select a 9 or 12-credit minor (the number of credits is determined by the discipline) in a specific discipline or take 12 elective credits outside of their major at the 3000 level or above for a minor alternative. Sixty percent of the minor as described in the Undergraduate Bulletin must be completed at the College. There is no such restriction for the minor alternative.

To declare a minor:

  1. Consult the Undergraduate Bulletin for the minors available at the College.
  2. Complete the declaration of minor or minor alternative at the Registrar's Office. This should be done when you file for graduation.
Please note:
  1. BA students with a Business Communication major must complete a liberal arts and sciences minor outside the department of their specialization.
