Baruch College to Host 9th Annual Employment and Visual Impairment Conference on Policy and Practice

NEW YORK, NY - March 21, 2016 - The Computer Center for Visually Impaired People at Baruch College presents the “9th Annual Employment and Visual Impairment Conference on Policy & Practice: Designing for the Future.” The conference, which is free and open to the public, will be held on Friday, April 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Baruch’s William and Anita Newman Vertical Campus Conference Center, 55 Lexington Avenue, 14th Floor. The daylong event is sponsored by the School of Public Affairs.

Chen Guangcheng, disability advocate and author of The Barefoot Lawyer, will serve as keynote speaker. Day long workshops will include topics ranging from employment and training initiatives for people with vision loss to networking for employment to making cultural arts more accessible. Vendor exhibitions will also take place during the afternoon portion of the program. This event is free and open to the public with lunch and refreshments included.
