Baruch College Ranked Among Best Actuarial Science Programs by College Values Online
NEW YORK, NY - January 27, 2016 - Baruch College has been ranked # 13 Best Value Actuarial Science Programs by College Values online. Actuarial science is an interdisciplinary profession that uses the principles of mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, and business to tackle some of the most pressing issues of risk across multiple industries. Advancement in the field of actuarial science is contingent upon the ability to pass the actuary examinations administered by the Society of Actuaries (SOA).
“Baruch College currently prepares our students for three of the Society of Actuaries examinations,” said Alison Griffiths, Interim Dean of the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences at Baruch College. “We are now revising two courses that will fully prepare our students for five of the SOA exams."
For its methodology, College Values Online awarded points based on four categories. Low tuition, high return on investment, a high percentage of students receiving financial aid, and the total number of SOA exams for which students are prepared by the program.
